SUNDAY SERVICES

Worship on Sunday Mornings 10:00am

Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship we acknowledge God present in our world and in our lives. As we respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, we are transformed and renewed. In worship we offer ourselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world.

To the right you will find a description of the various elements of worship at Steel Lake Presbyterian Church. Simply click on the double arrows in the upper right corner of each section to expand the information

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU COME TO WORSHIP
Prior to worship you can expect to be greeted warmly at the door by one of our greeters. They will answer any questions you might have (including those about the location of the family room, or restrooms as well as where you can find the "busy bags" for children).

As you enter the narthex, you will notice that there are two ushers standing at the main doors of the sanctuary ready to hand you a worship bulletin and answer any further questions you might have. Feel free to enter the sanctuary and find a seat. You are welcome to sit wherever you are comfortable.  Gentle music will be playing and people are encouraged to prepare themselves quietly for worship.

This is a time to remind ourselves that none of us are spectators in worship; all of us have a role to play with God as our audience - who receives our prayers, praise and glory. During this time of preparation, it is better to hold conversations out in the narthex so as not to disturb those who are preparing for worship.

You will know that worship is about to begin when the pastor or other worship leader greets the congregation with the words "The Lord be with you." The congregation appropriately responds by saying "And also with you." After a couple of announcements are made, and the friendship pads (where we record our names and other information) are passed, the worship leader will ask people once again to prepare their hearts for worship as they listen to the prelude (instrumental music played either on the organ or piano).
