Frequently Asked Questions
When is your worship service?
10:00 am - Blended Worship. Our normal service is a mix of classic and contemporary worship styles with a praise band, beautiful organ and piano music, choir-led hymns and traditional Presbyterian liturgy.
How long are the services?
Our services typically last between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes.
When do I need to arrive?
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start of the service. We encourage people to enter the sanctuary humbly, to prepare reverently, and to worship joyfully.
Where should I park?
We have reserved several spaces near the main entrance of the church for visitors and people with limited mobility. Please, be our guests.
How should I dress?
Come as you are. You will be welcome!
What should I bring?
Some people bring a Bible but this is not a requirement. Our pastor typically reads from the New Revised Standard Version.
Do I have to be a member of Steel Lake Presbyterian Church to take Communion?
Not at all. Everyone can partake in communion. All who put their faith and trust in Jesus are welcome to the Lord's Table.
Where do my children go during worship?
We have several options for children. There is a nursery for our youngest ones with windows that look into the sanctuary. We have a family room for those families with young children who prefer not to disturb others. But we always encourage our families to sit together in the sanctuary for worship. At each of our services there is a children's message where the children are invited up to the front of the church. After the children's message, the children are invited either to rejoin their parents or to join their friends in the Pacific Room (Education Wing) for the children's lesson. At the end of the service, children can be picked up at the Pacific Room.
