Professional Counseling - Samaritan Center of Puget Sound: Samaritan Center of Puget Sound, formerly Presbyterian Counseling Service, provides high quality, faith-integrative, affordable counseling for individuals, couples and families in 21 locations throughout the Puget Sound area. Extended Communion: During worship, we celebrate Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper) on the first Sunday of each month. The pastor, elders and deacons are available to bring communion to those who are homebound or in the hospital. Please contact the church office or one of our pastoral care contacts to make these arrangements.
Hospital Visits: Our pastor and deacons extend compassion and prayer to those hospitalized by phone and through visitation at our local hospitals. Please contact our Critical Care Coordinator (Carolyn Perrone) or the church office and provide the following information: the person's condition, the hospital, and room number. The pastor and/or your deacon will be notified and they make contact as soon as possible.
Homebound Visits: Our pastor and deacons regularly visit members and friends of the congregation who are confined to home, a nursing home, or assisted living facility. If you know anyone who would desire a visit, Please contact our Critical Care Coordinator (Carolyn Perrone) or the church office and provide the name of the individual, their location, and any other contact information that might be helpful.
Bereavement: The death of a loved one or friend is difficult for anyone to experience. Our pastor, elders, and deacons share in the need of those in grief by offering prayer and consolation. We can also assist in the planning of a funeral/memorial service. When informed of the death of a friend or loved one, we will contact the family to express our condolences, offer prayer, and offer any assistance that the family may request. Please contact the Deacon's Critical Care Coordinator (Carolyn Perrone) or the church office by calling 253 839-1210 immediately. For those who request it, grief support counseling is available. Prayer Vine: The congregation of Steel Lake Presbyterian Church believes in the power of prayer. Steel Lake offers a Prayer Vine for members and friends to share prayer requests with the congregation. This information is at least weekly through emails and in the Cares and Concerns list included in the Sunday worship bulletin. If you have a prayer request, please send it by email to the Deacon's Pastoral Communications Coordinator (Jim Carl) or call the church office at 253 839-1210.
Prayer Chain: Steel Lake Presbyterian Church also has a Prayer Chain. This is made up of members of the congregation who are committed to prayer and praying immediately for the needs of those who request it. When a prayer request comes into the church office, the office volunteer will call the first person on the Prayer Chain list and inform them of the request. This person will call the next person on the list, and so on, and so on, until finally everyone on the Prayer Chain has received the request and are lifting up the situation in prayer before God. Prayer in the Sanctuary: The sanctuary at Steel Lake Presbyterian Church is a quiet place dedicated to contemplation and prayer. You are welcome to enjoy the solace and peace in our Sanctuary at any time during our regular office hours, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Prayer Chapel: The Prayer Chapel, located next to the church office, is available for quite personal time or guided prayer during regular office hours.
